Earlier this year, we teamed up with a talented twosome from Edinburgh College of Art to create a short video about Kotikan. The animator-come-filmmaker extraordinaires, Thomas Morgan and Oli Ninnis spoke to us about their inspiration behind the video."After spending some time with the guys at Kotikan, we felt there were three key things we wanted to convey in the animation; the diversity of their work, the level of collaboration within the team and their creativity. We created an abstract representation of what Kotikan do, using the changing mediums of pencil, pen and water colours to show a mobile being brought to life. As the animation progresses, we emphasise a natural process between the hands developing the image, representing the different departments at Kotikan, their clients and their users. We borrowed colours from Kotikan's design palette so that the animation would flow as part of their brand."What they're up to now:Tom is currently working as a photography technician at the Edinburgh College of Art and Oli is living in London, writing and illustrating his first children's book.Check out their other work here:Tom: thomasmamorgan.wordpress.comOli: oliverninnis.comCast: Kotikan
